Redwood Coast Gymnastic opened its fall season at the Stars Challenge in Redwood City on Sunday, Sept. 13, with all eight competitors qualifying for the 2026 State Championships in mid-November.
Hannah Naylor, competing in her first Level 4 meet, had an exceptional performance. She won the gold medal on vault in her age division with a 9.35, just shy of RCG’s Level 4 record of 9.40. Naylor also earned bronze on bars with a 9.35 and medaled in 5th place on floor exercise (9.35). She finished sixth in the All-Around with a score of 36.15.
Also competing at level 4, Maya Dalton posted a personal-best 9.35 on floor exercise. She topped the 9.0 mark on vault and recorded another personal best on bars with an 8.95. Laura Barkdull, who moved up to Level Four just a few months ago, delivered consistent routines across all four events, scoring at or above 8.50 on each.
Five gymnasts represented RCG at Level 3 Abigail Clair collected several Level 3 personal bests, including 9.20 on vault, good for 5th place in her division, and a 9.00 on floor for seventh. She also earned medals on balance beam, placing sixth with 8.85, and in the All-Around, where her 35.60 earned sixth place. Zoey Long’s competition highlights included a personal best on bars as well as a fifth-place finish on beam with an 8.95. In their first Level 3 meets, Hazel Willor earned a medal with 9.10 on vault, placing seventh, while RCG’s youngest Team member Nova Connolly showed strong performances with 9.0 on vault and 8.90 on floor. Cara West finished just outside medals with 8.70 on beam.
The Redwood Coast Gymnastics Team will next compete on Sept. 26 at the Pink Meet Invitational in Fremont.
