'Happy'

April 20, 2021, is a great day for America. Twelve people had the courage to make real what most Americans knew to be true and judged a thug in uniform to have violated norms of behavior that hold most of us in check: the violation of someone else's rights. This safeguard of a sanctity we hold dear. Thank you, jurors, for helping us to move forward and strengthening the concordance upon which society must depend: to treat all others as we wish to be treated. It's not over, but perhaps this is a real breakthrough. I am not content, but I am happy.
