Food for People to Hold SoHum Distributions Tuesday

Due to wildfire evacuations and road closures in Southern Humboldt County, Food for People has rescheduled produce distributions in Redway and Garberville to Tuesday.

From 10:30 a.m. to noon, those in need can receive fresh, free produce at the Garberville Presbyterian Church (437 Maple Lane) and from 1 to 3 p.m. at Redway Baptist Church, which will host a drive through distribution.

Food for People’s Free Produce Distributions in Garberville/Redway

In response to the fire evacuations and road closures in Southern Humboldt Food for People has reschedule Free Produce Distributions in Redway and Garberville for Tuesday, September 29th. Those that lost food or are in need of assistance can access free fresh produce! The Free Produce Distributions will take place from 10:30am-12pm at the Garberville Presbyterian Church (437 Maple Lane), and 1-3 pm at the Redway Baptist Church (553 Redway Drive). In Redway it will be a drive-thru distribution; cars are asked to enter via Empire Drive. Participants are asked to make room in vehicles - volunteers will load produce directly into the trunk.

Garberville & Redway Produce Distribution – Tuesday, September 29th
Garberville Presbyterian Church (437 Maple Lane) from 10:30am-12pm.
*This is a walk-up distribution – participants are asked to wear face masks and maintain 6ft social distancing.

Redway Baptist Church (553 Redway Drive) from 1-3pm.
* This is a drive-thru distribution; cars will enter via Empire Drive and exit onto Redway Drive. Participants are asked to make room in vehicles volunteers will load produce directly into the trunk for drive-thru distributions. There will be a separate area for walk-ups.

All regular distributions programs remain operational though some may become fluid as we address evolving needs and challenges.
