Human Remains Found in Northeast Humboldt

The Humboldt County Sheriff's Office has found human remains in Northeast Humboldt near Highway 96, between Hoopa and Weitchpec.
The identity and sex of the deceased are unknown, as is the cause and manner of death. HSCO has launched a further investigation and will release more information when available.

Human remains recovered in Northeast Humboldt
Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies have located human remains in Northeast Humboldt.
The remains were recovered today, August 20, 2020, in the area of Highway 96 between Hoopa and Weitchpec.
The identity and sex of the deceased are unknown at this time. Cause and manner of death are also unknown, pending further investigation.
This is an active investigation. More information regarding this case will be released when available and appropriate.
