Friends of the Dunes Offers Online 'Get Outside Gear Sale'

Posted By on Sun, Jun 21, 2020 at 7:41 PM

Friends of the Dunes’ Get Outside Gear Sale is one of Humboldt County's hidden gem events. The annual fundraiser that supports coastal education and conservation programs is the insiders' spot to score great deals on new and gently used outdoor gear. Due to Covid-19, this year's April event was cancelled. However, gear donated before the shut down is waiting to be paired with happy new owners.  Boats and bikes, shoes and clothing, camping and hiking — all great for socially distant outdoor activities.

Find your score at https://friendsofthedunes.square.site. Gear is available while supplies last, with local, safe and physically-distant pick-up only.

Read more about the online sale below.

Friends of the Dunes’ Get Outside Gear Sale is going online! The Gear Sale, originally scheduled in April, was canceled to protect the safety of our community. Now that summer is nearly here, we want to help you find great deals on the gear you might need for outdoor adventures!

All used gear was generously donated by our community before the spread of COVID-19 to Humboldt County and has been safely stored for months. Funds raised from the sale will support Friends of the Dunes coastal stewardship and education programs.

At the Virtual Get Outside Gear Sale, you will find deals on new and used gear, including:

Kayaks and kayaking gear
Backpacks
Tents and camping gear
Fishing Gear
Spotting Scopes
Bikes

To view and purchase gear, please visit https://friendsofthedunes.square.site/. For more information, contact Friends of the Dunes at [email protected]. Gear is available while supplies last, with local, safe, and physically-distant pick-up only.

Due to public health guidance regarding COVID-19, we are not accepting donations or consignments for this sale. This will be the ‘first wave’ of the gear sale, with more gear to come in the fall. If you donated gear, but don’t see it in this sale, it will likely be included in the fall sale.
