Photos: Perilous Plunge Back in the Swim

Posted By on Wed, Apr 20, 2022 at 10:48 AM

In person once again after going virtual due to COVID-19, the Discovery Museum's annual fundraiser the Perilous Plunge had sponsored supporters in colorful costumes leaping into Humboldt Bay from the pier at the foot of F Street in Eureka. It began with a parade down F Street with musical accompaniment from the Marching Lumberjacks, who also serenaded the plunging participants. Photographer Mark McKenna was in the splash zone for the cannonballs and kayaks. Enjoy the highlights in the slideshow below.
