North Coast Parents will be sponsoring a “Family Day” outing to Wolfsen Organic Blueberry Farm on Saturday, July 19 from 10:00-12:00 pm or 2:00-4:00 pm. New and prospective members are welcome to attend. Parents and their babies, toddlers and preschool-aged children are invited to come pick blueberries fresh off the bushes. Families each pay for their own berries. Bring cash and your own bucket (for getting your berries home) to cut down on waste!
Organizing the blueberry picking outing is North Coast Parents (NCP), a local grassroots organization that was created 20 years ago to serve as a support group for parents of babies, toddlers and preschool-aged children. NCP offers activities, small play groups, field trips, and meetings in safe, nurturing environments that provide socialization for young children and their parents. Also offered is a babysitting co-op, parents’ night out events and meals to new parents. A monthly newsletter listing activities, parent education classes, recipes and health topics is sent to members. Annual membership is $30 and scholarships are available. For more information on NCP, please call 440-8034 or look at our website for our current activities schedule at www.northcoastparents.org.
