WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT... The Humboldt Branch of Women's International League for Peace & Freedom hosts a special Interdependence Day Brunch & Book Sale on July 4th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the D Street Neighborhood Center, 14th & D Streets in Arcata. The theme of the brunch is "Promoting Peace Within and Among Communities."

Family entertainers including the Raging Grannies and Marianne & Maria will provide musical accompaniment to a light brunch of granola, fruit, pastries, coffee and tea thanks to donations from local independent businesses.

At 12 noon the winning ticket will be pulled for the raffle of a queen-sized quilt and other great items donated by local artisans. Brunch and raffle proceeds benefit WILPF's Edilith Eckart Peace Fund for Teachers and proceeds from the morning's book sales will go toward peace-themed book donations to Humboldt libraries.

Suggested donation for the brunch is $5 to $10; the event is free for kids 5 and under. For more information call 826-9197.
