Be very happy to meet the Glasnosts.
Happily transplanted to their new American home from an obscure Balkan country, they make their living playing music on the street. They are a zany tribe of immigrant misfits, a thrown-together family, who argue non-stop about everything from what food to serve their holiday guests (that's you), to what songs best fit the season.
Celebrate with the Glasnost Family as they struggle to invent holiday traditions in their adopted homeland. They've borrowed bits of winter rituals from the Old world, the New world and Out of This World -- all to bring cheer to everyone on the cold holiday nights. Their "most certainly up-to-date music" will transport you to the gaiety of another time, another place, while their attempts to pull together a holiday celebration, with you as their guests, will warm your heart. Directed by Dell’Arte Founding Artistic Director Joan Schirle, "The Glasnost Family Holiday" is a year-end comic treat for the whole family, with music, laughter, a group of wacky characters, and all-around good holiday cheer.
