Color Struck uses humor, drama, music and visuals to examine institutionalized racism in America, its historical implications and how they affect race relations today. It is also the poignant story of how a light-skinned African American is treated from childhood by his own black people (often ridiculed by darker skinned blacks as a half-breed, or not black). Donald turned the early childhood experiences into a riveting expose that examines the historical ramifications of racism, and how we as a society can move forward as a more tolerant country, inclusive of all races. Told through acting, music, stand-up, spoken word and movement. Color Struck takes a fresh new look at an age-old problem.
Cost is $10-15/sliding scale.
